Cookies and storage.

You can decline Google Analytics. During a short diagnostic test ending 20 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC, GA4 may load and set cookies by default unless you have declined. Afterwards, prior opt-in is required again.

What the site stores in your browser

That is the full list. The site sets no advertising or social-media cookies and embeds nothing from other sites. Fonts are served from meaning.today itself.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. When we checked the live site on 19 October 2026, its pages set no cookies. Cloudflare can set its own security cookies on sites that switch on certain protections, such as bot or challenge checks. If that changes, this page will be updated. Cloudflare’s hosting logs are described in the Privacy page.

When Google Analytics loads

Normally your browser requests Google’s analytics script from www.googletagmanager.com only after Allow analytics. During the temporary default-on diagnostic test (until 20 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC), the script and cookies may activate before your choice. A saved Decline preference prevents tracking, and choosing Decline removes analytics cookies and stops further measurement. After the test ends, the previous opt-in behavior resumes. See our Privacy page.

Change or withdraw your choice

Use the “Analytics settings” button in the footer of any page to reopen the choice. Selecting Decline stops measurement and deletes the Google Analytics cookies listed above from this site. You can also delete cookies and site data yourself in your browser’s settings; doing so also resets your saved choice, so the banner will return.
